Janet Clare - Big Brown British Bird Quilt Pattern

Designed by Janet Clare, the ‘Big Brown British Birds’ pattern is a fun, quirky appliqué and embroidered quilt featuring nine British birds, each beautifully constructed in an appliqué block, offset with colourful sashing borders . It’s great fun to make and the piecing is easy.

Designed to be constructed using your fabric stash of scraps, the pattern has full size templates which mean marking out your appliqué birds is a breeze. Detailed instructions guide you through the construction of the bird appliqué blocks, the sashing, quilt construction, layering and binding.

The words are hand embroidered and tell you a little fun fact about the birds. For example: ‘Herring Gulls eat anything.
